Out of the fire and into the fall.

Out of the fire and into the fall.

I must say, this summer was the most chaotic we have had when it comes to the wildfire season. Growing up in Central Oregon, wildfire season was always there. We would have smoke roll in and stay for weeks or more. The last two seasons though we have had to drive away under evacuation orders with nothing but hope for the land we left. Hope that it will survive, that the people who live there will still have shelter and stability.

In the Trinity most people had their property saved. By firefighters and by the grace of nature. However, not everyone was so lucky and lost homes, possessions, businesses. There are many people now leaving this crazy summer of wildfires searching for a new place to land, or trying to decide how to rebuild. I have high hopes that their paths will get better. Hard times can feel like they will never bring us out of the woods and into the light.

My family and I have finished our time in the Trinity Alps and move forward, North! We are always sad to leave so many lovely souls behind, but as we drive away we look forward to all the new souls we will cross paths with and share moments. Moments that will stay as memories and foster new friends in these travels of ours.

Until we see you again Trinity County, stay strong and shining!
