My husband Jake and I were able to spend a good day hike up into the Trinity Alps. The vision was extraordinary, and although we stopped every few feet to take pictures they just can’t do it justice. The old grown redwoods, the steep granite cliffs, the crystal clear river that cut through it all. This wilderness really brings me back to thinking about time and how it can feel like forever, or just a bleep of nothing in the scope of these ancient elements.
At the end of our day I pulled from my deck asking what we should keep in mind or learn from this wild area, I found it so fitting to have pulled X Fortune, or Wheel of Fortune. The lesson from this card is all about recognizing how we view time, what it means, and accepting that although we all have free will there is still a form of destiny holding our hands. For me, this means taking some things one day at a time.
Even though we all like to look to the future we must also have some presence in the here and now. Just like the wheel spinning around, you might currently feel like you are underneath, being crushed and drug along. What we all need to accept is that time and events will always be in motion. Know that when you are under the wheel, or a top it and feeling like a kind, the wheel will keep spinning. Your current events, feelings, happy or sad, will change and move on. Time will keep moving us forward and sometimes you just need to trust that destiny will have us on that wheel exactly where we need to be at the time. Learn the lesson that we don’t always have the full perspective or control over.
